A couple notes:

I referenced narrowing your audience in the video (example was if you were a parent) - sometimes this is called "double targeting." I highly recommend narrowing this audience if you can using something simple like military interests, parents etc. If you can't use something simply, try the targeting mentioned in the video first. If performance is lacking, please see the FAQ document to see how me (Zach) - someone with very little "double targeting ability" is able to double target.
I also referenced making look-alikes. While you should test a look-alike after you get 100 leads, the real benefits from a look-alike come at 500+ leads. Either way, you should test a look-alike at 100 leads and then at every 500 lead increase.
Also, remember this list is a STARTING POINT. People respond to each advertiser differently. “Traffic” is not an elusive, mystical force. It’s made up of actual human beings with emotions, dreams and desires. You will start with a very large audience as described in the video but you may need to drill down into “double targets” and/or target specific audiences rather than a big one as referenced in the FAQ document here because you and I are different people.
