It wouldn’t be a healthy Friday without Cinco Bala. This weeks top 5 lessons, hacks and quotes I’ve been pondering, applying and battling.
For those of you who are new, this is a concept I took from Tim Ferriss. (This is just focused on MLM and online marketing) If you don’t subscribe to his newsletter. You should do it.
Lessons in Online Marketing: Change Your Questions - Don’t ask HOW, ask WHO.
One of the detriments to growth is constantly asking “How am I going to do this?”
As entrepreneurs we constantly overload ourselves with to-do’s and opportunities. I know, because I do it and so do most of my peers.
We think that this MUST get done and so does this. Even when we prioritize, it seems that too many things bubble up. In fact, I’ve been dealing with this a lot this week.
In order to grow we have to stop trying to do everything ourselves and stop asking “how do I do this?” and ask “Who can help me with this?”
Clearly, having more “who’s” in your business is more expensive than less who’s. But there comes a breaking point where you can either go nuts and spin your wheels…
Or bring someone else in who can help you.
Choose your sanity and scale.
Lesson in Network Marketing: Don’t Get Screwed - $400k a year, gone in the blink of an eye…
A million in annual commissions vanished after building a team generating tens of millions of dollars in sales...
These are the real stories of people just like you and me building massive teams, quitting our jobs and relying on our income to maintain our freedom,
Only to have it all ripped away by a company that got greedy, scared or couldn’t manage itself after growth took over.
In an industry where we all think we’re in the best thing since sliced bread, this is a massive blind spot. I’ve yet to meet a rep who doesn’t think “they’re in the best thing ever”...
Or that their comp plan is somehow the best. How can ALL of them possibly be the best? By default, only one can be.
Sadly the strength of our “belief” in our company is also our Achilles’ heel.
And it is the very thing that prevents us from truly attaining freedom. Because if something OTHER than us can take it away, we don’t have freedom. We have a band-aid.
Honestly, after an announcement in 2019 of a massive health company completely deleting the multi-level marketing portion of their “direct sales” model, I had enough. And I couldn’t keep quiet anymore,
And I decided to put together a “manual” teaching you how to properly select a company…

We’ve had the privilege of working with some great minds in network marketing both on and off our team. This position gives us a unique insight into the industry at large…
Most notably, as I’ve stated earlier, I’ve yet to meet a rep that has any significant history in their company that doesn’t think they’re in the best company on Earth…
Or that they don’t have the best comp plan…
Or that their company “would do anything to hurt them.”
In fact, I’ve even had conversations with reps who got COMPLETELY screwed that STILL have faith in the corporation.
It’s this completely blind faith that shackles the feet of networkers and buries them in a constant need to bounce around and rebuild teams.
So whether you’ve just been screwed or you’re doing your homework to make sure you don’t, this is for you. In fact, I think EVERY networker should read this RIGHT NOW. Yes, I’m advocating you share this whoever you care about.
I’m going to open the wound and pour salt in it. If you’d rather stay in ignorance, I’ll be the first to tell you it’s more comfortable.
But if you believe that knowledge is POWER, and you want a completely logical, level headed approach to evaluating your current company or a company you’re thinking about joining, then I want you to read every last word.
I love this industry but I HATE that most networkers aren’t trained how to properly select where they build their livelihood, since we almost all got into our first company blindfolded from a friend or someone off Facebook.
Now you’ve been warned.

Travel Hack: The Two Best Credit Cards for Travel - It took me way too long to realize this one. I don’t believe in consumer debt at all but I do believe in maximizing potential.
After traveling full time for nearly 18 months, I can say that this is probably the most significant perk we’ve taken advantage of.
Because of using the right credit cards for purchases we would have made anyway, we’ve paid for business events, trips and even the majority of our travels to Iceland.
If you want the full skinny, watch this video. If you ever plan on traveling as a full time nomad, this will be insanely valuable.
